USMLE STEP 1 ADVICE

I think it is best to look at step 1 within the context of your whole medical education. What does that mean? Studying hard for the first 2 years is the best way to do well. Study what is actually important. Not the minutia on some profs ppoint. Next point, be disciplined. After you work hard, rest well and get some sleep. Don't mix the two. Work when its time to work, and have fun when you need a break. It is a marathon not a sprint and this is the only way to keep moving. Next, focus on really learning what you have already learned over learning new material. There is basically infinite stuff you could learn. Stimulate the neurons which have already been connected in M1- M2. Next, practice a lot of q's. It is a long test and you will need to develop stamina. Last tip, enjoy the support of friends, family, church etc. Don't do this alone. It is a weird time of life. Kinda artificial, but it will be done sooner than you will expect.
